Frequently Asked Questions about Quanta CMS

Question:

What differentiates Quanta from other CMSs?

Answer:

First of all - Quanta doesn't use a database.
Quanta uses a flat-file approach, where your file system (folders containing files) IS the database. All entity data is stored in JSON files, organized in folders. This includes users, nodes, site configuration, modules, settings, etc...

Thanks to its innovative data model, Quanta is:

- extremely performing
- easy to backup (just copy-paste all the folders)
- allowing reusing of entities and even modules with just a symlink.

Then, the "quantic" concept, for which each folder/entity is not necessarily of one "type", but it becomes whatever you want, depending how you call it.

Thanks to its simple JSON architecture, Quanta unbinds your architecture from database "tables". In quanta, the same one entity could be an user, a product, an article... at the same time!

That's why Quanta is loved not only by Coders, but also Designers, System administrators... and end users as well. It has been designed to be very easy and entertaining at every level.

Some of the features offered by Quanta are:

- JSON-based architecture with system folder as entities
- qtags, the real core feature of Quanta
- CSS grid integration, helping making of beautiful layouts... a breeze!
- Shadow, an overlay widget for intelligent management of user input and forms
- Multilevel TPL, An advanced HTML5-based template engine based on file system structure
- Everything you will expect from a modern modular CMS (hooks, entities, access control...)
